North - Antofagasta

Antofagasta is the largest city in northern Chile.  Walking along its downtown streets will allow you see some beautiful buildings.  Its main square, and its statues are also recommendable. One of the jewels in town is Huanchaca ruins, a former silver refinery, which has now been turned into a great museum that displays a nice collection of photographs from the nitrate times, a room showing us why this is an area favorite to astronomers, and even a NASA rover.
