City Tour of Castro (03 hrs)

Departure from the pier towards the Gamboa lookout from where it is possible to have an excellent view of the main architectural attraction of the island: the palafittes, houses made on stilts. Afterwards, a short visit of the small but attractive Regional Museum. We will continue with a visit of the Church of San Francisco that was built in 1906. This interesting building was projected for masonry construction by Italian architect Edward Provasoli and interpreted in local timber by local craftsmen. Later, we will make our way to the Museum of Modern Art - which exhibits one of the one of the most important collections of national contemporary art. There we will have a series of activities, such as a fashion show that will allow you to appreciate hand-made clothes in local wool but in a modern style. Also, there will be typical music, handicrafts and we will enjoy a snack before returning to the pier.
